Q. Is there a Concierge? What specific services are provided by the concierge?
A. There is a butler’s team providing services like any concierge around the world and they assist to customize the guest experience at TRM.

Q. How far is the Hotel from Playa del Carmen?
A. Playa del Carmen is 15 minutes away from the hotel.

Q. What is the appropriate dress on property?
A. Barefoot is acceptable in most facilities during the day and night. However, guests are to wear sandals or flip flops as well as t-shirts (sleeves or sleeveless) when visiting restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Q. Are there welcome amenities in the lobby for arriving guests?
A. Cold facecloths & a tropical fresh drink is offered to the guest upon arrival so they can experience the feeling of The Tides.

Q. Do you have taxis available into Playa del Carmen?
A. Yes we do, we have range rovers available to take our guests into town or wherever they want to go, we only need to know 10 minutes in advance.

A. Early check in or late check out is based on availability, dressing rooms are provided based on availability as well, an extra charge would apply if necessary.

A. The Tides Riviera Maya is located 45 minutes away - by car - from the airport.

Q. What other airport/hotel transportation options are available?
A. There are taxis available at the airport, the guest can also rent a car, there are several companies available at the airport.

Q. May I pre-book, airport-to-hotel transportation?
A. We have our own transportation and it is the best way to get here, we need at least 24 hrs advise. The cost for it is $300 USD plus tax and service charge round trip. May you request a specific car the cost may vary.

A. Parking available for guests, next to the gallery. No fee & it is secure.

Q. What type of pillows are placed on each bed?
A. We have a menu of pillows which includes Soft & firm feather pillow, soft & firm hypoallergenic pillow, small orthopedic pillow and small neck pillow.

Q. What categories are available and what are the differences?
A. We do have 3 categories, they are Luxury villa, Royal Villa, both have a plunge pool, crystal shower and moon shower, the difference is that the Royal villa is strategically located closer to the ocean and the service of a private butler who looks after the guest and customizes a program of amenities according their preferences. The Tides Villa is the closest villa to the ocean and the only one with a partial ocean view, this unit is also 1 bedroom and is a two story building.

A. The rates do not include breakfast.

A. Yes, all guestrooms have a fully stocked mini-bar at an extra charge.

Q. Are there welcome amenities in the guestrooms?
A. The villas come with Molton brown amenities, hand made soap is offered to the guest upon arrival and there is a complementary service of coffee or tea every morning delivered in the villa.

A. All of the villas are nestled in the lush and are totally separated from each other.

Q. What are the operating hours of the two restaurants?
A. La Marea: 7am to 10:30pm, Mayaterranean Food.

Q. What are the operating hours of the bars?
A. Bar at La Villa: 8am to 11pm. Bar at La Marea: 9am to 11pm, Coral Bar: 4pm to 11pm.

Q. May guests make special requests for wine or other alcoholic beverages?
A. Yes, this request can be done in advance through our reservations department or our butlers team.

Q. Is room service available?
A. Room service is available from 7am to 10:30 pm, breakfast, lunch and dinner menu is available in the rooms.

Q. May special gifts – chilled champagne, for example - be ordered in advance by either the guests or their friends?
A. Special requests can be ordered through our butlers team for guests in house or guests arriving. They can place the request by calling the hotel directly. An authorization form needs to be filled.

Q. May guests make special requests for dietary restrictions?
A. Yes, if they are allergic or restricted for something in special our Executive Chef will offer something aside the menu.

Q. How safe is the swimming at the beach?
A. Our beach is perfect for swimming & snorkeling there are a few rocks on the shore so we offer diving shoes to get into the water.

Q. What is the water temperature of the pools?
A. Water in the main pool is 88 F and the pools in the villas can be heated upon request to the temperature desired.

Q. What type of yoga is available at the property?
A. Yoga class is available on request by a certified teacher who practices Hatha or Kundalini Yoga. Guests are offered daily yoga from 10am to 11am at an extra charge.

Q. Can sports activities (ex: snorkeling) be pre booked?
A. We offer a wide selection of personalized activities and they vary the price depending on the activity.

A. High speed wire and wireless internet is available in all the villas and at the restaurant area at no extra charge.

Q. Is there cell phone coverage at the property?
A. There is cell phone coverage at the property mainly at the main pool and by the lobby area. Guests must verify with their US carriers if their services include reception in foreign cities which most of them do.

Q. Is there a gift shop on property? During what hours is it open? What does it sell?
A. Gift Shop "La Boutique" opens from 11am to 7pm, offers Mexican handcraft, linen and beach clothing, fashion accessories such as sandals, hats, bags, jewelry, suntan lotions, toothbrush, hand made soap, etc.

Q. What are the locks and additional security devices on the guestroom doors?
A. All guestroom doors are locked from inside, there is a safety deposit box in each villa.

Q. Is the water safe for drinking? Is bottled water served at the hotel?
A. Water is potable but we do not recommend it for drinking. Purified and bottled water is served at the hotel and provided at no cost in the guest room.

A. In Cancun there are consulates from The US, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Argentina, Norway, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Denmark, Finland, UK, Guatemala, Holland, Poland, Switzerland and Sweden.
